WhatsApp, web, email, Telegram or Discord — which channels do you actually need?

Channels are not a shopping list. A simple way to decide where your bot should live, based on where your customers already write to you.

The most common mistake when automating customer conversations is opening every channel at once. The bot should meet customers where they already write to you — not force them somewhere new.

Start where the conversations already are

If your customers message you on WhatsApp, that is channel number one. Everything else can wait. A bot nobody uses on a channel nobody opens is just a badge.

What each channel is actually for

WhatsApp — the default in Spain for anything urgent, personal and fast: bookings, questions, 'are you open?'. If you take bookings by phone, this is where you start.

Web chat — for the visitor who is on your site right now, deciding. This is the highest-intent traffic you will ever get, and it is the easiest to lose.

Email — where the paperwork and the formal enquiries arrive. Slower, but it is where quotes and follow-ups live.

Telegram — strong with international clients and with anyone who prefers a lighter, faster app than WhatsApp.

Discord — where communities live. If your customers already gather in one, that is your channel.

The rule

One bot, several channels, the same tone and the same information everywhere. Your customer should never get a different answer depending on where they happened to write.

Pick the one channel that hurts most when you miss a message, start there, and add the others once the first is clearly earning its keep.
